Shambala is back for 2009 – but we don’t quite know where. We do know the festival is in Northamptonshire, but organisers are keeping the exact location a secret until revellers have got their ticket.
Shambala is the perfect alternative to the normal August Bank Holiday beach trip, instead of nightmare traffic jams and sweaty cars this magical corporate-free festival is a Pandora’s Box of eccentric surprises played out to an eclectic soundtrack.
Over 100 artists grace the festival’s three stages with much more to be discovered at the Cabaret Village, Multi-Media Blackout tent, Healing and Craft areas and the Rebel Soul Village – home to campaigns, workshops, cinema and debates.
Jump right in and get involved in the traditional Fancy Dress Carnival, the gurning competition or get wet in the hot-tub field. There is even an old-fashioned boozer with organic ales, speciality ciders and a beer garden.
