Born from Groove Armada’s London nightclub residency of the same name, Lovebox Weekender has sprung from a one-day affair into a two-day party and the 2008 winner of Best Medium-Sized Festival at the UK Festival Awards.

The expansion of the event saw Lovebox move from its original venue at the capital’s Clapham Common to Victoria Park in the heart of the city.

Lovebox 2009 will have seven stages with the music principally dance orientated, but recently funk, soul, reggae, indie and pop acts have been added to the bill during a diversification of the festival’s aural platter.

Alternative entertainment comes in the shape of workshops, yoga, Tai Chi, a flying circus and other side attractions. Onsite there are plenty of food and drink concessions and even a fun fair.

The festival is a non-camping affair which gives revellers the opportunity to catch some kip in a decent bed.

The site is open each day runs from about 10am – 10pm. There’s access for wheelchairs. No glass bottles or alcohol.
