Sharing a rotating line-up with Reading Festival, the northern leg of the August Bank Holiday weekender is annually blessed with a mammoth line-up that makes it one of the essential festivals of the calendar for rock fans.
Leeds Festival may be younger than its Berkshire brother, but it has quickly built its own personality and identity. Having bagged three exclusive headliners in 2008 with Rage Against The Machine, The Killers and Metallica, organisers are on the search to repeat the trick this time around.
A plethora of established and emerging acts in indie, punk, ska, hip hop, dance and comedy will fill the smaller stages again at Leeds 2009 after breaking artists like Arctic Monkeys and Kate Nash in the past.
The event also has fairgrounds, late night entertainment and a Silent Disco.
