World-record holder of the ‘biggest ever air guitar ensemble’ (2004), Guilfest may have its roots in ‘dad rock’ (Status Quo, Simple Minds, The Stranglers have all headlined in recent years), but the emphasis is firmly on fun – for all the family.

In addition to the mainstream pop/rock lineup on the main stage, there are tents catering for dance, heavy rock/metal, new bands, and comedy.

Immaculate facilities and organisation make the weekend feel more like a holiday than a festival and while it’s predominantly organised with the local and surrounding areas in mind, it’s well worth the trip.
