After the success of the inaugural Camp Bestival, the three-day family affair returns to the grounds of Lulworth Castle, Dorset for 2009. Capturing the magic and tomfoolery of its sister soiree and stretching and shaping it for children and adults to enjoy simultaneously – the boutique bash is for all ages.
Described as “perfect” by last year’s headliners The Flaming Lips, the second edition will try and keep up the standard with another five stages of music including a Balearic Bollywood arena, Roll n Roll tent and the Come Dancing tent.
With all the bands handpicked up Rob Da Bank, expect music to be as eclectic as the activities on offer which include a sports day, jousting, story telling and an insect circus in the children’s area.
Other entertainment includes comedy, spoken word, theatre in the woods, films projected onto the castle walls and a real animal farm. Miguel from the Cuban Brothers will take charge of the Bestival Bluecoats and the lovely ladies from the WI will return with tea and cakes.
Bespoke camping is available for the weekend.
