This year sees the Camden Crawl expanding from its traditional one-day format into two full days, featuring more than 80 bands across 15 venues in Camden, north London.
Organisers are promising some high profile ‘surprise’ acts, however most of the pack will be the year’s hottest new bands, destined to make a splash at this summer’s festivals.
The live music starts from midday on both the Friday and Saturday with the entertainment continuing through until around 2am. In keeping with the ‘Crawl’ them, venues are all within walking distance of each other and include the Electric Ballroom, Underworld, Lock 17, Koko, Purple Turtle, Barfly, Dublin Castle and Castle Bullet.
The lineup should be announced early in the new year, however running orders and venue bills will not be announced until on the night itself, giving real urgency to the ‘who to see when’ dilema.
From our experience, it is best to move about as little as possible, especially later on, as huge queues can get in the way of some of the most popular acts. In 2006, these included Dirty Pretty Things, The Automatic and Wolfmother.
