About European Festival Awards 2009

The European Festival Awards, produced in co-operation between Virtual Festivals Europe and YOUROPE and launched in 2009, honours the organisers and artists who make the continental festival scene such a diverse, vibrant and magical phenomenon each year.

Building on the success of the UK Festival Awards, running since 2004, the European Awards consist of a number of themed categories, awarded by a combination of public online voting and industry jury panels.

The evening will see a special gala ceremony unfold at The Grand Theatre in Groningen, The Netherlands, which will celebrate the festival success stories of 2009 as fans give their verdict on the summer's best events and the artists that made this festival season one to remember.

The UK Festival Awards are produced by Virtual Festivals Europe and YOUROPE and voted for by the fans.
