About Cambridge Folk Festival 2009
This long-standing event returns to the stunning grounds of Cherry Hinton Hall in Cambridge for another four days of folk
music in all its incarnations.
Roots, blues and Americana are all represented along with the likes of zydeco, klezmer
and Cajun music. Billy Bragg, KT Tunstall and Laura Marling have all performed in the past with the festival housing the best
in folk since 1965.
There will be plenty of unknown, emerging and original talent on show as well as craft, music and
instrument stalls, campsite entertainment and a food selection as varied as the line-up.
A dedicated children's area
is devoted to keeping them little ones amused and the spectator interaction is encouraged with festival-goers allowed to create
their own music in the bar and campsite sessions.
AGreenerFestival say this of the festival: The Cambridge Folk Festival
has made real efforts to organise a sustainable event and promote sustainability. We were very impressed with just how clean
the festival was with excellent on-site recycling facilities, a good public transport policy and excellent plans to work with
Julies Bicycle, the cross music industry initiative on climate change, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in 2009.
