The Big Day Out festival tour kicks off in New Zealand before taking in five Australian dates, boasting an ever-impressive mix of local talent and global heavy weights.

Starting life as an all-out rock affair back in 1992, BDO has followed the UK lead by incorporating different types of music into its day-long program, such as dance and hip-hip. System Of A Down, Beastie Boys, The White Stripes and Slipknot have all played in recent years - whoever's performing, the emphasis is always on the shell-shockingly loud.
