About Bestival 2008

Bestival is now onto its fifth event and the record-breaking; UK Festival Award winning festival shows no signs of slowing down. Radio 1's Rob Da Bank hand-picks a delectable eclectic selection of acts blending international superstars with unknown talent both of which are guaranteed to either capture your imagination or blow your socks off.

A mixture of over 400 live acts, DJs and comedians perform across the eight stages and tents that are dotted around the site. The Bollywood Bar houses top-name DJs, the Big Top a selection big live acts and well-known mixmasters, while The Bandstand showcases unique talent on a traditional Victorian platform.

The main arena is set in the valley of a beautiful country park on the Isle of Wight. It has a WI cake tent, a farmer's market, a hidden disco, a burlesque tent, a toboggan ride and surprises hidden in the woods. The festival even has its own real ale - Bestivale.

Quirkiness and surprises are key features of the boutique festival. Last year Madness were unveiled as one of the three secret guests, 100 novice Ukulele players performed 'Ring Of Fire' live on stage and thousands joined the fancy dress parade. Expect more eccentricity and tomfoolery this time round...
