T in the Park
From its beginnings at Strathclyde Country Park in 1994, T in the Park has grown in size and influence to become one of the most important and critically acclaimed music events on the UK and European festival scenes, and is firmly established as Scotland's most popular weekend out. The festival is now situated in the lush Scottish countryside of Balado, near Kinross.85,000 people can't be wrong and its popularity can be attributed to a unique party atmosphere and also to the fact that it consistently boasts one of Europe's most exciting line-ups with over 200 bands and artists playing across ten stages. The T in the Park line up consists of the finest unsigned talent to world-wide stars. T in the Park is widely considered the artists' favourite festival, with The Killers, Arctic Monkeys, Swedish House Mafia, The View, and Chase & Status among its biggest fans, and the public certainly agree.
T in the Park has also won multiple awards as both Best Major Festival and Festival of the Year including two UK Festival Award gongs in 2005 + 2006, Channel 4 Live Music Awards in 2008 and this year's 2011 Music Week Awards.
