Beautiful Days

Beautiful Days is the brain-child of The Levellers, an idea ? like all the best ones, including this website - conceived in a pub, with its inaugural event taking place in 2003. Feeling that modern festivals had lost their way, after a soulless experience performing at the V Festival in 1999, the idea was to resurrect the 'true' original green festival, where community spirit combines with great music to create that sense of magic ? so clearly missing in most contemporary events.

Set in charming Hardyesque rolling Devon countryside, this festival truly lives up to its name, as one of the most colourful and idyllic sites in existence ? a heavenly retreat from modern life. Everywhere you look, kids (and more than a few adults) run merrily with painted faces and fairy wings and even the most hardened sceptic will find themselves lifted by the magic in the air.

As well as The Levellers, who traditionally close the festival on the Sunday night, Gomez, The Wonder Stuff and The Stranglers have all headlined. The rest of the music policy spans everything from folk to dub to indie rock with art, theatre and workshops also thrown into the mix.
